Welcome

Hi! My name is Lindy (she/her) and I am a Ph.D. student in special education at Michigan State University (lands of the Anishinaabeg – Three Fires Confederacy of Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi peoples).

My research interests broadly center around language and literacy assessments, with a particular focus on how equitable assessment practices can advance anti-racist and decolonized teaching practices and policy decisions for students who are culturally and linguistically marginalized.

I’m always excited about the possibility of collaborating with others on new projects.  If you are affiliated with PK-12 education (e.g., school, organization, researcher, or student) and have questions related to my areas of work, please feel free to contact me. I am also available to speak at conferences, give guest lectures in classrooms, or provide professional development to schools or districts. Some examples of topics I have previously addressed in  guest lectures/talks include universal screening in schools, using data to make informed decisions about reading assessments, and paper-specific talks. I look forward to making new connections!
