Writing Architect


A Web-based Tool for Adapting Writing Instruction to Meet Students' Needs

Project Description: The Writing Architect is an integrated tool designed to help teachers connect the specific needs of their students to evidence-based writing instruction. Students' instructional needs are identified through a computer-based assessment of their written compositions in the classroom. The goal of this project is to improve the written responses to texts (i.e., informational writing) of upper elementary students and to more effectively utilize assessment data in the classroom.
